“Time capsule” discovered within Colony Store door panel

Inside the east side front door panel on the north side of the Colony Store, the following information was written in pencil:

Manufactured by Hawkinson Mfg. Co.

Oct 1, 1973

Machined by Patrick Shea

Assembled by Howard Peterson and Everett Smith

Harkinson Manufacturing was based in Galesburg and went out of business some years back.  You just never know what you will find in these old Colony Buildings.
