As part of the 2023 Bishop Hill Chautauqua, Peoria singer Paula Vankuren will sing as sweetly as the Swedish Nightingale, Jenny Lind and tell the stories of her relationships with Hans Christian Anderson and Frederic Mendel. Her performance will start at 1 p.m. Sunday in the park gazebo.
The 2023 Bishop Hill Chautauqua is a 2-day historical re-enactment brought to life through storytelling and music on August 26 and 27 in historic Bishop Hill IL. Spend the weekend in the village park with several characters from our past such as Bob Dylan, Abraham Lincoln, Jenny Lind, Carl Sandberg and many more. Saturday afternoon, enjoy Fika with some of the performers. Saturday evening, enjoy a dinner theater at P.L. Johnson. Event is free and open to the public. Please bring a lawn chair.
