Leveling of the Steeple Building Clock Tower

Over the past several months, Triangle Construction of Cambridge, IL has been leveling the clock tower atop of the 1854 Steeple Building.  Over the years, the clock tower (which was added onto the Steeple Building in 1859) has settled, putting undue stress on the clock mechanism.  Over the past few months, the tower has been slowly jacked up and back to its original spot.  This week, we are beginning to add additional bracing.  Go to our photo gallery or click on the following link:  http://bishophillheritage.org/leveling-steeple-building-clock-tower/ ,  to see the work being done inside the clock tower.
