A felting workshop will be held on Saturday July 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Dairy Building. This three-hour workshop that will teach the basics of wet felting, an age-old craft that is enjoying a renaissance today.  Using colorful wool roving and decorative elements of sari silk, silk fibers and specialty yarns, participants will create a sheet of felt that can then be made into bookmarks, coasters, a small change purse or a cell phone or glasses case.  Lou Hanson of Hantverk Galleri will teach the workshop at the Dairy Building.  To reserve your spot, call 309 927-3899 or email bhha@mymctc.net.   The cost is $20 per person.

Lou Hanson apprenticed with Colony Potter Steve Holden in 1976 and 1977. She has been making her living with clay and crafts ever since.  Lou owns and creates at Hantverk Galleri in Bishop Hill, Illinois.  The Bishop Hill Heritage Association and the Illinois Arts Council Agency, a state agency, sponsor this workshop.  The Dairy Building is located at 410 North Erickson Street, on the north end of town.
