Clay marbles are the only evidence of a “toy” found from Bishop Hill Colony era. BHHA volunteers have brought this toy back by producing hand made clay marbles.
There are variations on the basic rules of marbles. The standard game is called the “ring game” or “ringer.” The goal is to remove all the marbles from inside a ring drawn or a string made into a ring, on the playing surface by flicking your shooter marble. Players get to keep the marbles they knock out.
Handmade marbles are on sale for $5 per bag at the Colony Store. Purchase them online or by calling the Colony Store at 309 927-3596. Buy one today!
