BHHA ACTING TROUPE PERFORMING AT 2023 JORDBRUKSDAGARNA (Ag Days)

For the 2023 Jordbruksdagarna, the BHHA Acting Troupe will performing their Bishop Hill Colony history skit “To America” at the Steeple Building Museum starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 23. The skit takes place in Halsingland, Sweden, the year of 1846, when the first Bishop Hill Colony’s Janssonists were preparing to depart their homeland and come to America for freedoms they were pursuing. As only these three Swedish women can do, they will share their trials of life in their homeland, what to expect in the new country, and tears for what they are leaving to never see again. They are committed to follow their leader, Erik Jansson, to America and Bishop Hill. This is a free activity open to the public. The Steeple Building Museum is located at 103 North Bishop Hill Street in Bishop Hill, IL.
