Below is the day to day schedule for Julmarknad (Christmas Market). Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for November 25, November 26 and December 3 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 27 and December 4.

Friday November 25:

  • Sweet Annie Primitives Christmas Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Cookie Walk at the Colony School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Old World Santa Claus will visit with children at the VASA National Archives. Cameras are welcomed.
  • Guests will be adding layers of paper mache to a Dala Horse at the VASA National Archives from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open to children of all ages.
  • Tomten roaming the village
  • Working Model Railroad and Christmas Display in Steeple Building Museum
  • Booking signing by Tim Pletkovich, author of Civil War Fathers, at Frau Blucker’s

 

 

Saturday November 26

  • Make it/Take it Christmas ornament workshop for children 12 and under from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Steeple Building Museum.
  • Cookie baking will be done in the 1860’s Bjorklund Hotel kitchen. Sample freshly baked cookies from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Cookie Walk at the Colony School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Guests will be adding layers of paper mache to a Dala Horse at the VASA National Archives from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open to children of all ages. Painting will also be done.
  • The Prairie Arts Center will host a book signing for Clouds Over Bishop Hill, written by Mary Davidsaver, from 1 to 4 p.m.
