Debbie Borkgren, 54, of Geneseo, is the winner of the 2015 Ghost Tales contest sponsored by the Col. Davenport Historical Foundation, The Dispatch, and The Rock Island Argus. Ms. Borkgren, granddaughter of John and Natalie Anderson, says her tale was inspired by stories she heard while visiting her grandparents in Bishop Hill during her childhood.
