The Bishop Hill Heritage Association is pleased to announce the gift of $1,000 from the Verdandi Lodge #3, I.O.S. in Chicago, Illinois. One of main functions of this fraternal organization is to promote and preserve Scandinavian heritage. This generous donation will be used to further preserve the unique heritage of Bishop Hill.

Also, The BHHA thanks the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend for awarding a $2,000 grant to our Steeple Building Front Entry project. The BHHA is currently repairing the west front porch of the Steeple Building museum and adding handrails. The completion of this project will increase the accessibly of this 1854 historic structure to the general public.

In addition, the Heritage is pleased to announce the gift of $1,000 from the Bill and Susan Sherrard Foundation for our 2015 educational programming, specifically our Bishop Hill Civil War Days in May and for our Chautauqua in August. This foundation is administered by Wells Fargo Bank and the GIFT Foundation in Geneseo, Illinois.

The Bishop Hill Heritage Association thanks the Verdandi Lodge, the Bill and Susan Sherrard Foundation, Wells Fargo, the GIFT Foundation, and the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend for their generosity and for supporting our educational efforts. Because of the support of these groups and organizations, the BHHA is able to preserve and promote the history of the Bishop Hill Colony.
