Bishop Hill is a great place to learn about Swedish culture. However, if you are visiting Chicago, I would also recommend checking out the Swedish American Museum in the historic neighborhood of Andersonville. Their website,

Their next big event is Saturday November 7 with the Three Crowns Ball Annual Dinner, Dance, and Auction. It is at the Crystal Ballroom at 6 p.m. with several Bishop Hill items being auctioned off.
