“Immigrant Trunks from the BHHA Collection” is the new first floor exhibit that is opening today in the Steeple Building Museum in Bishop Hill, IL. Several of these trunks have never been on display before. All of these immigrant trunks have a story. Some of the stories we know; while others have been lost in time. With this display, we will share the stories that we can in the hopes that we will honor the bravery of our Bishop Hill Colonists who traveled across the ocean to start a new life. At the same time, as you view this display, we also hope it will remind you of the courage of the first immigrants in your family’s history.

This exhibit will be open until the end of October. The Steeple Building Museum is located at 103 North Bishop Hill Street; it is the three story building with the clock tower on top. If you have any questions about this exhibit, please contact the Bishop Hill Heritage Association at 309 927-3899 or at bhha@mymctc.net.
