This Saturday, the BHHA has organized several events for Spring Jubilee.  Because of the rich baseball history of Bishop Hill (and opening week for MLB), all our events have a baseball theme.  The three main activities are as follows:

  • We have just finished installing an All American Girls Professional Baseball display in the Steeple Building.  It will be available for public viewing this weekend only.
  • At 1:30 in the Steeple Building, author Barbara Gregorich will do a presentation called When Women Played Baseball:  the story of Margaret, Nellie, and Rose.  This activity is funded by the Illinois Humanities Council Road Scholars Program.
  • At 3:30 again in the Steeple, we will be doing a free showing of A League of Their Own starring Tom Hanks and Geena Davis.  Free popcorn will be served.

Also, the 1908 Albert Krans Livery Stable Museum will be open for the first time this year.  Don’t forget to check out our Colony Store for your Spring and Easter shopping needs!
