On Sunday September 30 at 4 p.m., the Bishop Hill Heritage Association will be dedicating its latest acquisition, the Spets Stuga. The Spets Stuga is a children playhouse with a pioneer theme, located at 404 North Erickson Street. The dedication will start with children activities at the Stuga, followed by short speeches next door at the Dairy Building. BHHA Administrator Todd DeDecker, BHHA President Kerstin Lane, and State Representative Dan Swanson will make brief remarks about this latest addition to the Bishop Hill community. Special thanks will also be given to the Spets family for their contributions toward this project. After the dedication, light refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend the festivities.

After the grand opening of the Spets Stuga, it will be open to the public on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays noon to 5 p.m., and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. until the end of October. It will then reopen next May. There is no fee for playing in the Stuga. For more details, please call the Bishop Hill Heritage Association at 309 927-3899 or email bhha@mymctc.net .
