Learn Scandinavian fiddle tunes and an accompanying dance or two with members of Skye Consort during this 90-minute workshop with BHHA. Emma Björling (of Kongero and Skye Consort & Emma Björling) will help lead dance instruction and teach Swedish dance song and Simon Alexandre will introduce workshop attendees to some popular Swedish folk tunes on fiddle. Nyckelharpa may also be taught if we know in advance of any nyckelharpa players! Instruction level will be catered to attendees, from beginner to novice.
This workshop is free and open to public. It starts at 2 p.m. at the Dairy Building, located at 410 North Erickson Street, Bishop Hill, IL. This workshop is hosted by the Bishop Hill Heritage Association and funded by the Illinois Arts Council.
