Mr. Winston Churchill will not be appearing at the Bishop Hill Chautauqua this coming Sunday. In his place, we are fortunate enough to have North Carolina storyteller Becky Stone portraying Civil Rights Movement icon Rosa Parks. This free performance will occur at the village park gazebo at 2 p.m. on August 27, 2023.
The 2023 Bishop Hill Chautauqua is a 2-day historical re-enactment brought to life in Bishop Hill, IL through storytelling and music on August 26 and 27. Spend the weekend in the village park with several characters from our past such as Bob Dylan, Abraham Lincoln, Jenny Lind, Carl Sandberg and many more. Saturday afternoon, enjoy Fika with some of the performers. Saturday evening, enjoy a dinner theater at P.L. Johnson. Event is free and open to the public. Please bring a lawn chair.
