Area third graders (and BHHA volunteers) had fun at the Astrid Lindgren Festival this past month in Bishop Hill.  At this educational event, third grade students from Galva, Bradford, Neponset, and Alwood learned about Swedish author Astrid Lindgren and her famous fictional character Pippi Longstrocking, through activities organized by BHHA volunteers.  Students listened to stories, created crafts, and played time-period appropriate games.  This event was sponsored by the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the Bishop Hill Heritage Association.  Photographs of the Astrid Lindgren Festival can be seen in our photo gallery or by clicking the following link:  Photographs are courtesy of Lou Lourdeau.
