The Bishop Hill Society of Sweden awards its 2016 Olov Isaksson Prize to a Renaissance Man in the fields of culture and teaching.  By means of words, pictures, and music he gets the undivided attention of the reading and listening public. His historical research work on the great religious emigration to America resulted in many newspaper articles and interesting lectures.  He has brought to vivid life the background of the emigration, the departure from Sweden, Erik Jansson and Erikjanssonism, the trip over to America, the trek across the prairie, the settlement of Bishop Hill and life on the prairie.

The 2016 Olov Isaksson Prize, presented by the Bishop Hill Society in Sweden, is awarded to an educator, author, and musician Hakan Wall.
