At the Bishop Hill Museum on the south edge of town, they have just brought out some new artifacts and placed them on display.  Besides several Olof Krans objects, they have also displayed Eric Janson’s vest, the one that he was wearing when he was killed on May 13, 1850.  You can actually see the bullet hole in the vest.  So when you are in town this year, please stop by the Bishop Hill Museum and check it out.  If you cannot make it, the Bishop Hill State Historic Site has a photograph of it on their Facebook page l A
