Music lovers of all ages attended the Midsommar Music Festival in Bishop Hill on Saturday, June 21.  Over three hundred people listened to such performers as Ernie Sandquist, the Black Hawk Pipes and Drums, River Bend Bronze, Hammer & Pick, the Jansson 5, and the Bear Clan of Sweden from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the village park.  After the music concluded, the Maypole was dressed and raised by an enthusiastic crowd. Later that evening, a fully packed barn dance, featuring The Rusty Pickup String Band with Gail Hintze as caller, was held at the Colony School.
