Chicago-based singer and hammered dulcimer player Phil Passen will have a concert in Bishop Hill, starting at 2 p.m. in the Dairy Building on Saturday, April 4.  His program consists of songs about women’s suffrage from the mid-nineteenth century through 1920.  In addition, the program includes songs from the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries about the role of women in society, including songs about equal job opportunity, equal work for equal pay, reproductive rights, and other relevant topics.  This program is free and open to the public due to the sponsorships of the Bishop Hill Heritage Association and the Illinois Humanities Council Road Scholar Speakers Bureau.
