2021 is the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Bishop Hill Colony. To celebrate this anniversary, Bishop Hill is adding new programs and expanding current ones, such as Jordbruksdagarna (Agricultural Days). The annual 19th century style fall festival (pronounced yord-brooks-DAH-ga-na) takes place on Saturday September 25 and Sunday September 26. As always, there will be a variety of vendors in the village park during the 49th annual Jordbruksdagarna (Swedish for “earth work days”). Traditionally, this is one of most well attended events in historic Bishop Hill.
The Bishop Hill Heritage Association is the coordinating organization for Ag Days. To help us celebrate the 175th anniversary of Bishop Hill, the BHHA is seeking additional vendors of 19th century style items or foods.
