Linda M. Holden, 72, of Bishop Hill, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at her home. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 30, 2017, at the Colony Schoolhouse in Bishop Hill. The Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. A graveside committal service also will take place at 10 a.m. on June 30 at Bishop Hill Cemetery. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Bishop Hill Fire Department. 

Linda May Lambert was born Dec. 21, 1944, in Harvey, the daughter of William and Frieda Ehrich Lambert. She attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School and graduated in 1962. Linda attended Patricia Stevens Career College in Chicago. She then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in design. Her marriage to Stephen J. Holden took place on Sept. 13, 1973, in Coal Valley. He died Oct. 7, 2011. 

Linda worked as an interior designer for the restaurant industry for many years. Her work included restaurants in the Quad Cities and across the Midwest. While living in Bishop Hill, she and her husband operated a pottery/gift shop and a bed-and-breakfast.  After moving from Coal Valley to Bishop Hill, the Holdens were active in various civic activities for a period of time. Among the positions Linda held within the community was a review officer to assure the historic integrity of the community. She also worked at the Bishop Hill Post Office and later became the postmaster. Her professional credentials include membership in the American Society of Interior Designers. 

Those surviving are a cousin, Alan Ehrich of Chicago, and neighbors and friends. Her parents, her husband and two infant children preceded her in death.  Condolences may be expressed at www.stackhousemoore.com.
