The last chance to see the Rarely Seen Treasures from the Attic exhibit will be this weekend. These relics from the BHHA’s collection have never been exhibited before! Some of the artifacts on display include two 1865 Civil War memorial posters for units in Galesburg and Geneseo, an 1817 Swedish newspaper, and a land grant signed by Founding Father James Monroe.
Colony to Community, The Story of New Sweden display will also be at the Steeple Building until the end of this month only. This traveling panel exhibit honors the 375th anniversary of the New Sweden colony, the first permanent European settlement in the Delaware Valley. The display describes the impact that New Sweden had on American history and on Swedish emigration.
