On Saturday June 1, 2024, Hammer and Pick will be the opening act for the Bishop Hill Folk Music Festival. Their free performance will start at 10 a.m. by the village park gazebo. The folk music ensemble Hammer and Pick has been playing for audiences in Western Illinois since the 1980’s. Jon Wagner plays hammered dulcimer, banjo, guitar and harmonica, Jan Sams plays guitar and bass, William Hope plays guitar and dobro as we all join in singing. Hammer and Pick performs Old Time Music, Gospel, Railroad Ballads, Blues, Celtic, and Civil War songs.
