As part of our Doodle Folk Music Festival in the village park on Saturday May 31, Bucktown Americana Music Show will be performing at 3 p.m. The Bucktown Americana Music Show is the house band for the region’s longest-running folk and roots music series — a foot-stomping, heartwarming celebration of American acoustic traditions. The band anchors a monthly show that, with its monthly guests, has been delighting audiences since 2006.

Bucktown has grown from humble beginnings in a 40-seat room into a beloved tradition. The show has hosted hundreds of talented local and national artists over the years (Mike Compton, Matt Flinner, the Price Sisters, Andrew Collins, Joe Newberry), offering a joyful mix of spontaneity, humor, and musical excellence.

After nearly two decades of fun-filled seasons, The Bucktown Americana Music Show continues to bring people together with traditional music, friendly vibes, and a deep love for live roots music.

This free event is funded in part by the Illinois Arts Council, Illinois Humanities Council, Galesburg Community Foundation, and the Geneseo Foundation. For more details, you can call 309 927-3899 or email bhha@mymctc.net.
