Bow to a Cow is a skit created by BHHA volunteers.  Three Dairy Maids tell through dialogue Bishop Hill Colony history, with emphasis on importance of the Dairy Maids role in the forming of the Colony.  To provide the necessary dairy products for existence in the early days of the commune, responsible young ladies were chosen to care for the cow herds and to turn out the needs for the Colonists in fresh milk, butter, cheese, whey butter.  The setting for the skit is the 1854 Dairy Building that is open to the public for the first time since Colony days.  The first performance of Bow to the Cow will be on August 27 at the Galva Senior Citizen Center.
