The Conference on Illinois History is a series of presentations about various aspects of our state’s history.  This year, the conference is located at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, Illinois on October 6 and 7.  As part of the program, there will a session on Bishop Hill history from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday October 6.  Titled  “From Religious Commune to Fenway Park:  Forrest Cady’s rise to Major League Baseball,”  this program will be presented by Doug Dowell, professor at Heartland Community College and BHHA Board Member Cheryl Dowell.  For more details about the 2016 Conference on Illinois History, click on the following link:  https://www.illinois.gov/ihpa/Involved/Pages/Conference.aspx
