Join us for a new event in Bishop Hill, a full day of music, workshops & performances at the Bishop Hill Dulcimer and Roots Music Festival Saturday May 23, 2015. In the morning there are a series of workshops to help participants improve their picking. One of the workshops will be in the Steeple Building Museum. The teachers include some of the Midwest’s best musicians and the two hour master class is only $25, but pre-registration is required. The afternoon is an open jam session where folks can play along or kick back and listen, maybe even learn a new tune or two. In the evening the featured artists will perform at The Twinflower Inn and then they will pass the hat.
Included in the line-up are: “The Dulcimer Guy” Mike Anderson; internationally touring banjo player and one of the legends of bluegrass Tim Ellis; Piedmont blues, finger-picking guitar wizard David Berchtold; and the multi-instrumentalist with a passion for the world of folk music, John Lane, who will also be teaching fiddle.
