Various foundations have generously donated funding to the Bishop Hill Heritage Association for 2023 activities. The BHHA is pleased to announce that the Illinois Arts Council Agency, a state agency, has provided a grant of $12,100 to support ethnic and folk arts programming for 2022 and 2023. Funds will be used for Jordbruksdagarna, Julmarknad, Lucia Nights, and various workshops. The Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation has also awarded the Heritage $12,000 for educational programming in 2023. This funding will be used to partially finance Bishop Hill Civil War Days, the Dancing Queen concert, Midsommar Music Festival, and other events. In addition, the Geneseo Foundation has gifted $2,000 to the BHHA. This money will be used to partially support the Bishop Hill Civil War Days festival, which will be occurring the first weekend of May 2023.
The Bishop Hill Heritage Association thanks the IACA, Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, and the Geneseo Foundation for generously supporting the BHHA. These funds will be used to preserve the unique history and heritage of Bishop Hill.
