The Bishop Hill Heritage Association is pleased to announce the gift of $1,000 from the Bill and Susan Sherrard Foundation for educational programming. Wells Fargo Bank administers this local foundation. This grant will be used to help fund a variety of Bishop Hill events in 2019.

The BHHA is also receiving a $250 contribution from the Galesburg Community Foundation for the 2019 Bishop Hill Chautauqua.  A Chautauqua is an event in which professional storytellers and historians present first person portrayals of historical figures.  This year’s festival is Saturday, August 24.  The theme will be Exploring Boundaries.

Finally, the Heritage received generous contributions of $600 from SWEA Chicago and $200 from the Henry County Independent Insurance Agents Inc.  SWEA (Swedish Women’s Educational Association Inc,) is a global non-profit association for Swedes and Swedish-speaking women who have or have been resident abroad.  These contributions will go towards Jordbruksdagarna (Agricultural Days), which will be occurring on September 28 and 29, 2019
