As part of the 2023 Bishop Hill Chautauqua, singer-songwriter Barry Cloyd will portray Illinois poet laureate and Lincoln biographer Carl Sandburg at the park gazebo.  This first person portrayal will start at 11 a.m. at the park gazebo.  Barry Cloyd is a Midwestern based, touring singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/historian performing over 200 shows per year,

The 2023 Bishop Hill Chautauqua is a 2-day historical re-enactment brought to life in Bishop Hill, IL through storytelling and music on August 26 and 27.   Spend the weekend in the village park with several characters from our past such as Bob Dylan, Abraham Lincoln, Jenny Lind, Carl Sandberg and many more.  Saturday afternoon, enjoy Fika with some of the performers. Saturday evening, enjoy a dinner theater at P.L. Johnson. Event is free and open to the public.  Please bring a lawn chair.
