This stool is currently being displayed in the main hallway of the Steeple Building Museum. Small Colony stools could be made somewhat “fancy” but most often would have a utilitarian resemblance.  Slender tapered turned legs and round seats made from a thick piece of scrap lumber was the design for the majority.  This stool from the Jacobson estate is one of the fancier examples.
