Who are your ancestors? What are their stories? Join us for a short film, “An Evening with Scandinavian Folklorist Peter Christen Asbjornsen” that you can watch at your leisure during the weeks of May 6-20. (The link will be sent when you register) Then participate in a zoom conversation with storyteller & author Brian “Fox” Ellis as we explore the connections between our family history and our broader cultural stories. We will also get a brief overview of the collection of the Vasa National Archives and be given tools to doing further research both on-line and in person.
The Vasa National Archive and Brian “Fox” Ellis have received an Activate History grant from Illinois Humanities to present “An Evening with Peter Christen Asbjørnsen” via Zoom or GoToMeeting. Participants will be given a link to a video to watch before May 20. This will allow participants to formulate questions for Peter Christen Asbjørnsen to address during the event. The performance is scheduled for May 20 at 7pm. If you want help watching or participating in the virtual program, Kathy will help you with it.
