On Thursday morning May 5, the Swedish Ambassador to the U.S., Björn Lyrvall , visited Bishop Hill. The BHHA hosted a fika (coffee) for him at the Dairy Building, followed by a quick tour of Bishop Hill. Ambassador Lyrvall visited the Bjorklund Hotel, the Bishop Hill Museum, the Steeple Building Museum, and the Colony Store before returning to Washington D.C. In an email received by the BHHA this morning, the Ambassador stated the following:
“A much appreciated visit with many highlights. The fika was absolutely delicious. Congratulations on all your achievements to preserve and present an indispensable part of Swedish Heritage in the US”
