The Heritage greatly appreciate the generosity of people who donate Bishop Hill artifacts. Some of these donations have interesting stories behind them, such as our most recent donation. This past winter, Carl Wijk of Stockholm, Sweden accidently discovered an 1873 letter sent from Bishop Hill by Swan Lundeen. Mr. Wijk then tracked down the Bishop Hill Heritage Association with the purpose of returning the letter to Bishop Hill. This past April, Mr. Wijk mailed the letter back to us. It will be put on display this coming June in our Rarely Seen Treasures from the Attic exhibit. The BHHA thanks Carl for his most generous donation.
