Starting Saturday July 13, several new items will be placed on display at the Steeple Building in our Rarely Seen Treasures from the Attic exhibition.  These relics from the BHHA’s collection have never been shown in public before!  Some of these newly displayed artifacts include an 1830 Kentucky Long Rifle made by John Armstrong and several scrapbooks from the 1940’s.  A land grant signed by Founding Father James Monroe and a 1770 Swedish legal document will be some of the items that will continue to be on display from the previous month.

This exhibit contains objects from American, Swedish, and Bishop Hill history.  New artifacts will be displayed each month.  The exhibition ends September 30.  It is sponsored by the Swedish Council of America and the Illinois Arts Council.
