From time to time, we see advertised that a museum will have free admission on a certain day or a certain month. Recently, we read an articles about free admissions in several Chicago museums. Here in Bishop Hill, IL, all of our museums have free admission all year long. Our town of 120 residents have 6 museums: Steeple Building Museum, Krans Livery Stable Museum, Henry County Museum. Vasa Archives, Bishop Hill State Museum, and the Colony Church. It would be safe to say, that per capita, Bishop Hill has more museums than any other town in the state of Illinois. All the museums will be happy to take a donation, of course, and please remember that all these museums are owned and operated by different organizations.

If you have any questions about the museums of Bishop Hill or have any other question, please contact the Bishop Hill Heritage Association at 309 927-3899 or at bhha@mymctc.net.
